Iterative Turbo Decoding Using Gibbs Sampling
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper discusses an iterative multiuser receiver for codedivision multiple access (CDMA) with forward error control coding. The receiver is derived from the maximum aposteriori (MAP) criterion for the joint received signal. A major drawback of the MAP receiver is its heavy computational cost that grows exponentially with the number of users. An alternative solution is proposed here based on a MonteCarlo approach where the MAP probabilities are computed via the Gibbs sampler. The computational cost of the MonteCarlo based method grows linearly with the number of users times the number of Monte-Carlo runs. In a second part of the paper, we present a ‘turbo’ equalization method that combines the previous decoding technique with an EM (Expectation Maximization) estimation technique for the blind or semi-blind identification of the channel parameters. Simulation results are finally presented to illustrate the performances of the proposed method.

متن کاملApproximate Message Passing for Bilinear Models
Approach: We take a Bayesian approach to the inference problems (in particular, posterior estimation) that revolve around the bilinear model (1). In particular, we leverage the approximate message passing (AMP) framework of [2], [3] and extend it to the bilinear domain. Compared to Bayesian approaches that rely on Gibbs sampling methods or variational inference, the AMP framework allows us to f...
متن کاملTurbo equalization for GMSK signaling over multipath channels
A novel receiver is derived for Gaussianminimum shift keying (GMSK) signals through a multipath channel. A nonlinear signal model is derived which avoids the linear approximation in the conventional finite impulse response(FIR) system model. A Bayesian equalizer based on the Gibbs sampler, a Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) procedure, is developed for joint channel estimation and symbol detectio...
متن کاملBlind turbo equalization in Gaussian and impulsive noise
We consider the problem of simultaneous parameter estimation and restoration of finite-alphabet symbols that are blurred by an unknown linear intersymbol interference (ISI) channel and contaminated by additive Gaussian or non-Gaussian white noise with unknown parameters. Non-Gaussian noise is found in many wireless channels due to impulsive phenomena of radio-frequency interference. Bayesian in...
